La Bohème by AVA Architects

What really attracts me to this interior bar is the use of the timber framework, creating a feeling of depth to the space. The above photo I created is a brief collage of the bar with some additional lines to define its features.

I created this image on Photoshop by using an existing photo of the interior and played around with its design. I kept some of the timber works and worked around it to show how it can create depth.

1st year of university

24 Mar

During my first year of uni, I learnt many different basic skills required to being a designer. Mainly drawing skills such as how to do perspective drawings. I am a fast learner and I quickly picked up how to draw in one and two point perspective. I really enjoy these types of drawings as it explains the interior space in a 3D view on paper. Another important skill I learnt was how to model make. I found this fun to do but requires a lot of patience and delicacy. Some things I made was a Paul Smith exhibition hub and a Miss Sixty retail store (shown below)

I was also taught how to use Photoshop and I quickly picked up new skills as I already knew the basic use of Photoshop before I started University. One project I did was to design and make a model of a box and transform it into any design element you desire (product or interior). Photoshop was required to do this and my idea was to design a nightclub:

Basic use of colours, shapes, transparency, size etc.

Essays and presentations were also required during first year. It was hard work with many projects in a small space of time but it went by quickly and I enjoyed the learning experience.

Arrangement of images

14 Mar

This is how I usually set up images for inspiration. I like to play around with them, arranging them til i get an image that i am satisfied with. I also like to draw over them whether it’s just a few simple lines as it can lead to sketching ideas through the result of different shapes that have been formed. This was all done on Adobe Photoshop.
